Anthony Carter

Anthony B. Carter, "Tony," was born to Doris and William Carter on September 8th in Greenville, Mississippi. He attended and graduated from Greenville High School in 1975. Being that both parents were educators it was no doubt what path he would take. He went on to further his education at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Education and a minor in High School Science.

He came to reside in Texas in 1988, where he began his teaching career for Dallas Independent School District at Zumwalt Middle School. He taught Earth Science and coached football and baseball. Currently, he has been teaching at Middle College High School, located in downtown Dallas, where he has been since 1990. He is also the Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Football Coach at South Oak Cliff High School where he takes pride in being a "Golden Bear".

In 1992, he met his wife, Shelia Carter, of Marshall, Texas and has been married since March 1996. To this union two children were born: William Curtis (8) and Andrew Bernard (5). He has also been a dad to their oldest son, Christopher Williams (15) since the age of two.

Anthony is a member of the Omega Phi Phi Fraternity, Inc., a member of the Texas Coaches Association, and was named Teacher of the Year in 1996. He currently serves as a Deacon and the Coordinator of Children’s Worship along with his wife at Central Pointe Church of Christ "where he loves keeping it real." His hobbies include, coaching baseball, football, and spending time with the family.

Anthony has aspirations of becoming the first teacher or counselor for the Central Pointe Learning Center. The one thing he has learned about life is to not worry because God will provide.
